The time has come to take a stand
The last 2 weeks have been quite a roller coaster ride for all of us. As the spread of COVID was gradually under control and the country was starting to look at the light on the horizon, our lives were darkened by the gruesome death of George Floyd at the very hands of the people who were supposed to protect him. The incident had a deep impact as we began to realize how fragile our environment was, especially, if you are a person of color. While all of us have experienced some biases through our lives for how we look, speak, behave, or our social preferences, it’s very hard to fathom that something like what has happened to George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Eric Garner, and many more is happening in the current day and age.
From a feeling of initial shock and anger, we have evolved into feeling a firm resolve that we need to fight prejudice, bias, and inequality with all our might so that we can make the country and the world a safer place for all, regardless of their color, race, or religion.
Black Lives Matter and we stand with our fellow citizens around the world who are demanding progress on social justice and fair and equal treatment under the law. Please join us in committing ourselves to speak out against injustice and inequality, and support a corporate and social culture of inclusion, fairness, racial equality, and mutual respect.
