Case Study Property: Days Inn Chicago

This boutique-style branded property offers an unsurpassed blend of superior quality and value to travelers. Being located in a very competitive market, such as Chicago, the property needed a strategy to increase their brand awareness and market reach. Milestone Internet Marketing helped the property do so by leveraging social media for the hotel and the power of engaging content to drive new Facebook likes, increase fans and followers, and drive traffic to the hotel ‘s website. In addition, this social media marketing campaign also helped the hotel increase its contacts database by having email address as a required field in order to submit an entry.

What Milestone did:

  • Designed and hosted a custom Facebook application for the hotel that includes an entry form with fields that provide invaluable insight into the entrants,
  • A confirmation page that encouraged social sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and via email,
  • Optimized content for engagement and search visibility,
  • Action-gated with required fields such as name and email address,
  • Ran a Facebook display advertisements,
  • Facebook promoted posts to increase reach,
  • Networked with travel directories/sweepstakes,
  • Cross-promotion on other social networks such as Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, and more.

 

Results: The hotel social media campaign ran for 4 weeks and generated the following results:

  • Increase in Facebook likes: 3,678
  • Increase in lifetime Facebook fans: 122%
  • Unique entrants: 1,336 (email addresses for future email marketing campaigns)
  • Increase in social visits: 180% increase in social referrals to hotel website (compared to the previous year)
