Scenario: The Maple Street Inn is located in Silicon Valley, no longer a tourist destination and suffering from a weak economy, the fall of the dot.coms, and 9/11. The hotel had its own website, which was designed from a booking agent template, but was not optimized for search engine performance, and did not include customer-focused content or unique selling points. The hotel did not get any business from its previous site because of optimization results.
Optimization Process: Milestone created a new website based on the most sought after keyword phrases in Silicon Valley and the unique selling points of this hotel. To ensure that the hotel was getting its fair share of the market – since we have designed so many hotel sites in The Valley – we also optimized their site for specific niche markets – people looking for pet-friendly hotels, boutique properties, wedding packages, popular area attraction packages, and relaxing weekend getaways. We did not waste money on pay-per-click advertising. Every thing was done by organically optimizing the site, and increasing page rank and link relevancy.
Results: The hotel is currently ranking in the top 5 on Google for every keyword phrase targeted and is receiving a tremendous amount of calls for all their packages – wedding packages, romantic retreat packages, and packages tied up with area attractions.
